KIFI Local News 8 in Idaho Falls is seeking a motivated Producer to join our fast-paced newsroom. You’ll direct reporters and photographers, oversee daily assignments, and help generate compelling local coverage that matters to viewers.

The ideal candidate has strong writing and organizational skills, a journalism or related degree, and a proven ability to stay calm under pressure. We offer growth opportunities and a supportive team in a region known for outdoor recreation.

Qualifications

• Degree in journalism, mass communications or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Direct reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks.
• Respond to viewer inquiries and monitor breaking news.
• Make beat calls to police and fire agencies to stay on top of stories.
• Lead the newsroom as a strong team leader with flexible scheduling.

The ideal candidate has strong writing and organizational skills. We’re a fast-paced newsroom that emphasizes breaking news, enterprise reporting, and severe weather coverage. Duties include directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks, responding to viewer inquiries, and making regular "beat" calls to police and fire agencies to stay on top of breaking news, possess a winning attitude and want to be an integral part of the "big story". A degree in journalism, mass communications or equivalent experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong attention to detail, and possess the ability to stay calm under pressure and handle stress is a must. Must be a good team leader, proficient in multi-tasking and have a flexible schedule.
