Job summary

GSD&M in Austin is seeking a Producer to manage and execute multiple projects across TV, radio, video, digital and social content. You will handle budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, technical specs, QA, and drive projects to completion with direct client interaction.

The role requires collaboration with Account, Creative and Project Management teams, development of estimates, monitoring of budgets, and on-time delivery through production milestones.

Qualifications

  • Three plus years of production experience.
  • Experience interacting with clients and client-facing production duties.
  • Experience with external vendor development and management.
  • Knowledge of industry prices, trends and vendor capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates/maintains communications with Account Leadership, Project Management and Creative Teams.
  • Consults with Creative, Account, Research, and Business Affairs from inception through completion.
  • Plans and implements production of TV, radio, video, digital or social content upon client approval of storyboards, scenarios, or scripts.
  • Develops estimates and monitors budgets based on campaign deliverables/change orders.
  • Generates and adheres to production schedules.
  • Creates specifications documents based on deliverable scope and definitions.
  • Determines resource requirements and engages third party vendors as necessary.
  • Evaluates, solicits bids from, and negotiates with vendors.
  • Works directly with cost consultants throughout process of production, meeting and adhering to established parameters.
  • Directs production workflow through pre-production meetings, casting, shooting, recording, editing, music, color correction, and final client approval.
  • Manages critical path milestones, evaluating risks and developing contingency plans.
  • QA ALL final deliverables prior to launch minimizing project risks.
  • Proactively communicates issues and resolutions to team within agency.
  • Carries out any additional and unforeseen duties as required, ensuring the project’s success.

Position

A producer is expected to manage and execute simultaneous projects across all content platforms includin,g television, radio, video, digital or social content. This includes budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, technical specifications, quality assurance, and follows through to actualization of the project. This is a client-facing role with direct client responsibilities during production.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Three plus years of production experience
  • Capable of interacting with clients, client-facing responsibilities on production
  • Experience managing the development of projects with external vendors
  • Basic knowledge of SAG, AICP, AICE guidelines
  • Overall knowledge of film and digital capabilities and nomenclature
  • Current knowledge of industry prices, trends, and vendor capabilities
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business and professional communications, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
