Job summary

Whole Foods Market Basalt, CO is seeking a Produce Team Member to support receiving, stocking, and merchandising while providing courteous, efficient service to customers and Team Members. You will help maintain fresh displays, follow company standards, and assist with inventory and safety procedures.

No retail experience is required; training will cover product knowledge, department practices, and health/sanitation requirements.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
• Ability to learn and understand growing processes that differentiate conventional from organic produce.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Maintains fresh and appealing displays by front-facing, rotating, and stocking products.
• Assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items.
• Monitors spoilage and communicates waste to buyers and leaders.
• Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Assists with periodic inventory checks.
• Arrives on time and participates in required trainings and meetings.
• Delivers excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, and merchandising of products.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures and Weights & Measures guidelines.
• Maintains clean, sanitary working and shopping areas; ensures equipment is safe.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures accurate signage and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
