You will assist the department manager to meet sales goals and uphold quality standards while promoting our values of respect, integrity, and safety.

You will help customers, stock and label merchandise, and ensure accurate pricing and freshness.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Role model the 3A's of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate customers.
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Assist with the preparation of produce platters/trays.
• Inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get what they want and need.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs kept.
• Reinforce safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
