Qualifications

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions and make suggestions
• Assist with preparation of produce platters/trays
• Inform customers of produce specials
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get what they want
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues
• Notify management of accidents
• Report safety risks or illegal activity to store management
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environment
• Ability to manage conflict calmly and cooperatively
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
