Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring for a part-time position in Katy, TX. You will deliver exceptional customer service, maintain a safe store environment, and assist the department manager in achieving sales goals.

You will promote our brands, help customers, and ensure accurate product labeling and inventory. A strong work ethic, safety awareness, and good communication are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Role model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate our Customers.
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Assist with preparation of produce platters/trays.
• Inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to ensure customers get what they want and need.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take action when needed.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance and notify management of repair needs.
• Report all safety risks or illegal activity to store management.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a professional manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support interacting with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
