Job summary

Saval Foodservice is seeking a dependable, proactive candidate to join our team in a hybrid quality control and warehouse/inventory role. You will inspect produce quality on arrival, work closely with purchasing and warehouse teams, and ensure readiness for inbound product.

The position requires 4+ years in wholesale produce, proficiency in Excel/Word/Outlook, and the ability to lift 65 lbs in a cold storage setting. Valid driver’s license and strong teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• English fluency required; Spanish fluency or conversational ability is a strong plus.
• Able to lift up to 65 lbs overhead (i.e., full watermelon box).
• Comfortable working in a cold storage facility
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean, ongoing driving record.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate the quality of produce upon arrival from various locations.
• Communicate daily with purchasing team and warehouse manager regarding product quality, inventory levels, and replenishment needs.
• Coordinate with buyers and warehouse team to ensure readiness for inbound product.
• Break down mixed loads and store products properly in assigned cooler slots.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to product quality and inventory.
• Assist in general warehouse operations as needed.
