Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Produce Team Member to perform preparation and merchandising duties in the produce department. You will cut fruits and vegetables, maintain quality standards, assist customers, and help keep the department clean and organized. The role requires punctuality, teamwork, and adherence to safety guidelines.

No prior retail experience is required; training is provided. The wage range starts at $20.50 per hour and may go higher based on experience and location.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of produce items and freshness indicators.
• Ability to communicate market conditions to customers.
• Understanding spoilage and waste and its impact on department profits.
• Familiarity with merchandising expectations in produce.

Responsibilities

• Cuts fruits and vegetables following safety rules.
• Ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Keeps department clean and logs swept.
• Arrives on time, well groomed, and ready to work; attends trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and assists customers promptly.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows procedures including weights, measures, health, and sanitation.
• Maintains sanitary environment and equipment safety.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; checks signs and pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
