PRODUCE/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Current food handler's permit upon employment

Responsibilities
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, safety, and food safety regulations, as well as company guidelines.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.

- Develop scheduling plans to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
- Train and develop associates on job performance, including inventory management, stocking, CAO, and retailing.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and recommending products.
- Offer product samples and inform customers of produce specials.
- Review and inspect products for quality and freshness, taking appropriate action on subpar items.
- Use Fresh Insights to optimize sell-through and reduce shrinkage.
- Recommend produce items to customers based on their needs.
- Develop and implement a business plan for the department to achieve desired results.
- Work in refrigerated areas and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Implement merchandising and promotional plans for the department.
- Keep associates informed about current and upcoming ads and promotions.
- Monitor and control departmental expenses.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and proper pricing, including shelf tags and promotional signage.
- Assist with inventory processes and ensure proper temperature logs are maintained.
- Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report hazards or incidents.
- Perform equipment inspections and notify management of repairs needed.
- Report safety risks, accidents, and illegal activities.
