Job summary

Kroger in Findlay, OH seeks a dedicated team member to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales goals and uphold quality standards while embracing the Customer 1st strategy.

You will work with associates to deliver excellent service, promote brands, and ensure products are properly prepared, labeled, and inventoryed.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed

Responsibilities

• Role model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate our Customers.
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers
• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions
• Assist with the preparation produce platters/trays
• Inform customers of produce specials
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Report safety risks or illegal activity to store management
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environments
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
