Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Role model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate our Customers
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers
• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome by answering questions about products in the department and store
• Know products in the department and respond to questions with suggestions
• Assist with prepping produce platters/trays
• Inform customers of produce specials
• Recommend items to help customers find what they want
• Prepare, package, label and stock merchandise
• Review products for quality and freshness and take action
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions to store management
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs
• Notify management of accidents
• Report safety risks and illegal activity to store management
• Work cooperatively in fast-paced environments
• Manage conflicts in a calm, cooperative manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding information
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues
• Provide support during interactions with diverse customers
• Able to perform essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation
