Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates; maintain a positive attitude.
• Communicate company, department, and job information to associates.
• Establish department performance goals and empower staff to meet targets.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train associates and participate in performance appraisals.
• Create an inviting environment and answer questions about products.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer samples.
• Review products for quality and freshness; take action when needed.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Educate staff on promotions and store initiatives.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales/merchandising supervisor.
• Plan and implement the department's promotional period.
• Assist in budgeting, expense control, and P&L reviews.
• Schedule price changes and maintain shelf tags.
• Organize inventory and CAO training for staff.
• Ensure proper temperatures and maintain temperature logs.
• Enforce safety procedures and report risks or incidents.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in fast-paced environments; manage conflicts constructively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity in customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
