• Oversee hiring, firing, discipline, transfers and performance evaluations for produce staff.
• Train staff on reading scales, pricing and proper customer service.
• Supervise salad bar operations and schedule staff for efficiency.
• Plan and control department activities; may run the store in the manager's absence.
• Direct receiving, storing, pricing and merchandising of produce.
• Ensure adequate stock through proper ordering and inventory control.
• Maintain records, reports, cleanliness and sanitation across the department.
• Groom department appearance and ensure proper uniforms and identification.
• Communicate effectively with store personnel and management.
