Responsibilities

• Manage the Produce Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provides ongoing performance management, training and conducts timely formal performance appraisals for direct reports
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture aligned with Food Lion values
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service and a positive shopping experience
• Model outstanding customer service and use department product knowledge to meet customer expectations
• Control store expenses through proper ordering and care for supplies and equipment
• Understand and use company tools and systems
• Ensure department appearance, quality and safety standards are maintained
• Ensure schedules support extraordinary customer service
• Understand scheduling, sales, wage percent, interviewing and training for the Produce Department
• Oversee ordering, receiving, preparation and display of merchandise according to policies
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions
• Record and report accidents
• Monitor shrink and coach for loss prevention
• Ensure advertising and signage compliance
• Adhere to company guidelines and policies
• Maintain security standards
• Complete CBT, Training Packet and related courses
• Provide recognition and constructive counseling as needed
