Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Produce Department Manager to lead daily produce operations, uphold freshness, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will supervise staff, implement merchandising programs, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will partner with the Produce Manager to optimize displays, rotations, and labor scheduling while fostering a positive, team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Commitment to freshness, cleanliness and customer service standards.
• Experience with merchandising programs, planograms and promotional displays.
• Knowledge of inventory management, shrink control and rotation practices.
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Produce Department operations with focus on freshness, quality, and customer service.
• Provide knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure staff have strong product knowledge.
• Execute corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets and promotions.
• Maintain fully stocked, fresh, clean, and visually appealing displays at all times.
• Manage product rotation, remove damaged items, and uphold freshness standards.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, inspection, and adherence to food safety guidelines.
• Help control shrink through inventory practices and waste-reduction strategies.
• Contribute to labor scheduling aligned with business needs.
• Coach and develop produce associates and maintain a positive team environment.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
