Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Grand Rapids is seeking a Produce Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of the Produce Department. You will plan staffing, coach staff, and ensure exceptional customer service while meeting sales and shrink targets.

In this role you will manage P&L responsibilities, maintain store presentation during peak hours, and promote product flow across departments. Attendance and safety are emphasized as core requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to analyze financial information and make informed decisions.
• Ability to mentor team members including hourly staff and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Plan staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed service and sales goals.
• Drive customer service excellence and store sales.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to Meijer standards.
• Manage P&L and shrink for the department.
• Promote Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Ensure thorough training and safe work practices.
• Attend to multiple tasks and communicate effectively with staff.
