Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a Produce Department Leader to drive exceptional customer service and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment. You will oversee daily department operations, ensure quality produce, and collaborate on promotions and budgeting with store management.

You will lead a team, train associates, and ensure compliance with safety and QA standards while working toward sales and profit goals in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Responsibilities

• Create outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Establish and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages our customers to return.
• Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department and control quality assurance standards.
• Monitor all functions, duties and activities related to the Produce department.
• Demonstrate our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
• Review and inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Train and develop associates on performance and assist in appraisals.
• Plan and organize inventory processes and CAO for department readiness.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Ensure temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs kept.
• Report safety risks and any incidents promptly and accurately.
• Assist management with department budgeting, scheduling, and expense control.
