Job summary

PAQ, Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk for the Fairfield, CA area to deliver prompt, friendly service and to maintain the department's appealing presentation. You will assist with stocking, inventory controls, and proper product rotation to ensure freshness and accuracy.

The role is part-time with weekend/evening availability. Candidates should be comfortable standing for long periods and performing physical tasks such as lifting and stocking.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
• Retail or customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow approved procedures for receiving products, pricing, and stocking to ensure accuracy, product quality, and proper rotation.
• Replenish the produce department's fruits, vegetables, and other items as assigned.
• Move products in and out of storage areas for proper display and storage of goods, including in refrigerating storage boxes.
• Assist in maintaining inventory control to ensure freshness, product quality, and turnover for maximum sales and to minimize out-of-stock or overstocked products.
• Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
• Monitor expiration dates of label goods to ensure only fresh products are available for customer purchase.
