Job summary

Palmer Food Service in Rochester, NY is seeking a Warehouse Associate to help maintain product quality and accuracy in receiving and inventory.

You will inspect, document, and communicate any issues, perform daily quality checks, and assist with timely receiving paperwork while upholding safety and company values.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming produce for freshness and quality; address concerns.
• Conduct daily quality checks of inventory.
• Communicate quality concerns to Buyer and follow through on corrective actions.
• Ensure daily splits are completed accurately per Buyer directions.
• Understand Operating System and generate receiving paperwork.
• Review receiving docs and HACCP records on bills of lading.
• Communicate late deliveries, overages, shortages, and discrepancies to Purchasing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a strong focus on produce quality, ensuring all products meet company standards for freshness, ripeness, condition, and overall quality.
• Inspect all incoming produce upon receipt for freshness, ripeness, condition, and other indicators of quality, identifying and addressing concerns before product is accepted or distributed.
• Conduct scheduled daily quality checks of produce inventory to identify deterioration, damage, or other quality concerns.
• Promptly communicate produce quality concerns to the Buyer and follow through on necessary corrective actions.
• Ensure all daily splits are completed accurately and according to direction from the Buyer.
• Maintain a sound understanding of the Operating System and create all necessary receiving paperwork.
• Review receiving documentation for accuracy and verify that all required HACCP documentation is properly noted on the bill of lading.
• Professionally communicate late deliveries, overages, shortages, and other receiving discrepancies to Purchasing.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or state issued equivalency certificate.
• Communicates well with team members and customers.
• Highly Organized
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Computer knowledge with ability to adapt to warehouse software program
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Proper lifting procedures must be followed.

$21.00- $23.00/ hour
