Position Objective: To assist customers in their shopping experience by providing them with fresh, high-quality produce in the most efficient, friendly, and courteous manner possible.

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Produce Manager.

Status: This is a non-exempt position.

Knowledge

The following are certifications, formal education, or training requirements:

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training as listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan.

Preferred but not required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills

Basic skills required for this position include:

• Implementing Cosentino Customer Service Standards.
• Preparing, packaging, and neatly displaying produce.
• Inspecting products for freshness, damage, and expiration dates; using proper rotation techniques.
• Operating, cleaning, and maintaining equipment safely.
• Meeting or exceeding productivity standards.
• Removing damaged or unsaleable products and following damage claim procedures.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Unloading, sorting, and stocking shipments without damage.
• Labeling or pricing merchandise as needed.
• Knowledge of department products, procedures, and policies to answer customer questions.
• Resolving customer complaints professionally and involving management when necessary.
• Complying with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
