Job summary

Hy-Vee is hiring a Produce Clerk to join the Produce department. You will greet customers, help locate items, and ensure friendly service that keeps customers coming back.

The role involves stocking, rotating, and merchandising, while following sanitation standards and safety rules to maintain a clean, inviting department. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced retail setting, handle product deliveries, and help manage inventory while supporting the store’s mission to deliver a smile

Qualifications

• Less than high school diploma or equivalent accepted.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training provided.
• Ability to learn and follow sanitation, food safety, and department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist with needs to ensure a great shopping experience.
• Monitor merchandise for freshness; replenish and rotate products to maintain quality.
• Maintain adequate product supply; follow production lists and anticipate daily needs.
• Check in and store product; review invoices as needed.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish products as necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area by following sanitation procedures.
• Assist with department upkeep and general tasks as they arise.
• Answer phones promptly and provide friendly service to customers.
