Job summary

El Super is seeking a Produce Clerk for the Rialto store (#35) to deliver friendly customer service and maintain fresh produce displays. You will support a fast-paced grocery environment while helping customers and co-workers.

Starting rate is $16.90 per hour. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and teamwork under the Produce Manager to ensure quality and accurate product rotation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Willingness to lift/move up to 50 lbs and work in a standing position for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist shoppers in the produce area.
• Maintain, rotate, and restock perishable displays to ensure freshness.
• Assist with cleaning and general department upkeep and safety.

Candidates should possess the ability to:

• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of Produce Manager, the Produce Clerk provides customer service. Assists customers, cleans, fills and rotates the perishable (produce) displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.
