Job Summary

Sets up and maintains the condition of the department according to company standards. Consistently provides friendly, courteous service to internal and external customers. Ensures product quality and selection. Performs other related work.

Typical Duties And Responsibilities

• Seeks opportunities to welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers. Maintains an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service with an emphasis on taking care of the customer.
• Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and interactive engagement with our customers, providing fast, friendly service, addressing and resolving customer concerns promptly, including product replacements, refunds, and assisting in locating items.
• Performs receiving duties such as verifying orders against invoices, reporting shortages, breaking down loads, dating products, cutting cases, stacking, pricing, and maintaining produce storage.
• Ensures proper merchandising for freshness and quality by proper handling, building displays, rotating stock, discarding spoiled products, and ensuring correct pricing and signage.
• Maintains cleanliness and eye-appeal of work areas, storage, and selling floor.
• Ensures a safe and secure work environment.
• Performs duties with honesty and integrity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Performing basic math and computing weights and measures.

Ability To:

• Provide friendly, courteous service consistently.
• Work varied shifts between 4:00 am and 11:00 pm, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Conduct visual inspections, read written materials, communicate in writing.
• Lift, push, and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, and perform physical activities for long periods, including working in refrigerated environments (34–55°F).
• Learn proper handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
• Be at least 16 years old.

Additional Requirements

• Food Handlers Certification (per state laws).

Machines And Equipment Operated

• Knives, wrappers, scales, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, ladders.
