Job summary

Chappell's Home Town foods is seeking a friendly Produce Stocker to keep the Produce Department well stocked and inviting. You will fill shelves with incoming stock and backstock, prep displays, and respond to customers' questions in a professional, friendly manner.

Work occurs in areas cooler than room temperature. You may stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and keep the work station neat and clean while assisting on stocking days and removing defective produce.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of different types of produce.
• Ability to use the wrapping machine.

Responsibilities

• Keeps the produce cases full.
• Make sure that produce cases are clean and neat.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Prepares produce for display.
• Keeps the work station clean.
• Looks for and remove defective produce.
• Assists on stocking days.
• Makes bags of ice and fill the ice machine.
• Any other responsibilities assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required At Entry:

• Basic knife skills
• Knowledge of the different types of produce
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read a weight measuring scale
• Ability to use the wrapping machine
