Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Produce Assistant Department Manager for the Marion, IA location. You will partner with the Department Manager to maintain product freshness, lead the produce team, and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.

You’ll train new staff, manage daily operations, handle inventory, and support department goals while upholding Hy-Vee standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Food safety training encouraged
• Over one year of similar or related experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the produce team and ensure product freshness.
• Manage shelves, rotation, and proper refrigeration temperatures.
• Train and develop department staff and coordinate tasks.
• Assist with inventory, receiving, and vendor related tasks.
• Support the Department Manager and assume responsibilities in their absence.
