Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous grocery industry experience, preferably in a produce department.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and basic food safety practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in managing daily operations of the produce department, including ordering, receiving, and stocking produce items.
• Supervise produce associates, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
• Monitor inventory levels of produce items and assist with ordering and restocking activities to maintain adequate stock levels.
• Ensure produce displays are attractively presented and properly rotated to maintain freshness and appeal.
• Conduct quality checks on produce items to ensure adherence to quality standards and food safety regulations.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing needs, including training new associates and coordinating work schedules.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their produce selections and answering questions about products.
• Collaborate with other department managers to coordinate promotions and cross-departmental initiatives.
