Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a procurement leader to manage all aspects of product procurement, including program negotiation with manufacturers, staff hiring, training, coaching, and counseling to meet corporate goals. The role focuses on profitability related to vendor programs, inbound freight, and annual marketing initiatives to support the foodservice distribution network.

The position is part of the OpCo senior leadership team, reporting to the Opco President, guiding procurement

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree.
10 years in procurement or related area with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise associates to include staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
Manage an acceptable level of inventory by negotiating with vendors for best price and program.
Interact with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely and quality manner; respond to inquiries and maintain fill rate service levels.
Establish procedures which increase the efficiency of the purchasing department and enable high productivity.
Improve purchasing strategies and processes with knowledge of the food distribution industry.
May manage marketing/merchandising functions and inbound freight management.
Oversee in-house logistics department functions to maximize control of inbound freight.
Lead growth of Performance Food Group exclusive brands and participate in strategic bid analyses.
