Job summary

Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities is seeking a full-time Purchasing Agent in Bethpage, NY. You will support departments with purchasing activities, oversee daily procurement operations, respond to inquiries, and help achieve agency objectives within budget.

Requirements include a high school diploma (an associate degree preferred) and at least five years of purchasing experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic procurement software.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years purchasing experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with electronic procurement software applications.
• Ability to plan and manage multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships.
• Utilize purchasing industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer bidding processes and contracts for vendor performance and compliance within established limits including preparation of specifications, issuing purchase orders, etc. for securing goods/services within budget and regulatory compliance.
• Compile data from a wide variety of sources for analysis and policy compliance.
• Research contracts, suppliers, equipment, and regulations to evaluate vendors.
