Job summary

GSS Construction and Oilfield Supply is seeking a procurement specialist in Louisiana to review replenishment and operational needs, create and manage purchase orders, and source products with favorable pricing and terms. The role focuses on maintaining vendor relationships, lead times, and open orders while balancing availability with cost controls.

You'll resolve shortages, backorders, and pricing issues, and maintain purchasing data in NetSuite, communicating supply issues across GSS

Qualifications

• 2+ years in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related role.
• Industrial or oilfield product purchasing and NetSuite experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, organization, and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

• Review replenishment and operational needs, then create and manage accurate purchase orders.
• Source products, obtain and compare quotes, and negotiate pricing, freight, terms, and availability.
• Manage vendor relationships, lead times, confirmations, backorders, and open purchase orders.
• Balance product availability with cost control and the need to avoid unnecessary inventory.
• Resolve vendor shortages, overages, damages, pricing issues, returns, credits, and replacements.
• Maintain purchasing data in NetSuite and communicate supply issues across GSS departments.
