Job summary

Covestro in Pittsburgh invites new graduates to join the Procurement Rotational Development Program, an 18‑month journey through each procurement department, with the goal of placing you in a full‑time role in a spend category.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, learn strategic sourcing, negotiate contracts, and complete cross‑functional projects while developing leadership, analytics, and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a field like Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or IT.
• Preferred: GPA 3.0 or above.
• Experience with Covestro or in procurement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rotate across procurement departments over ~18 months and transition to a full-time role in a procurement spend category.
• Learn strategic sourcing processes and supplier management.
• Perform market research, vet suppliers, participate in bids, and negotiate contracts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on cross-functional projects and training in strategic sourcing.

WHAT WE OFFER

The Procurement Rotational Development Program offers new graduates a rotational assignment through each Procurement department, with the total rotation lasting about 18 months. At the end of the rotation, you will find yourself working full-time in one of our procurement spend categories.

Procurement is responsible for providing Covestro with materials and services on time, of the right quality, and at the best total value. As a strategic organization, Procurement generates a competitive advantage by driving sustainable value creation through innovation, sourcing and commercial excellence, and the passion of our people.

When you're part of the Procurement team, you will collaborate with suppliers and work with internal stakeholders to identify problems, create resolutions, and define opportunities. You'll perform market research, vet suppliers, perform and award bids, and negotiate contracts. You'll learn the strategic sourcing process and how to evaluate and manage suppliers all while working in a global cross functional team. During your Procurement Development Program, you will spend time in all procurement functions, work on cross functional projects, complete negotiation and strategic sourcing training.

WHAT YOU OFFER

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a field such as: Supply Chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Information Technology

Preferred Qualifications

• GPA 3.0 or above
• Previous experience at Covestro
• Experience with SAP, APO, statistical tools and/or modeling software.
• Ability to speak, read or write German or Spanish is a plus.
• Previous experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Operations through co-op or internship experience; preferably in a chemical/industrial organization.
