Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct purchasing/procurement experience.
• Knowledge of purchasing, logistics, and quality processes.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Strong negotiation and vendor-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify cost-competitive, high-quality suppliers to improve value proposition.
• Issue RFQs with current and prospective suppliers and negotiate contracts for materials/services.
• Visit suppliers for initial and ongoing meetings to monitor quality and service.
• Develop and maintain supplier relations and leverage expertise as needed.
• Conduct supplier audits, selections, and ongoing performance reviews.
• Reduce material costs through vendor analysis, quality, scheduling and cost evaluation.
• Negotiate lower MOQs while securing favorable pricing.
• Monitor supplier commitments to ensure timely deliveries.
• Stay current on market trends to maintain margins.
• Expedite orders and proactively resolve delivery problems.
• Verify data accuracy in MRP and report issues.
• Maintain pricing, RFQ, and supplier databases for decision-making.
• Control inbound freight and handling costs.
• Analyze variances to standard cost and coordinate with multiple departments.
• Plan and monitor material movement through development, prototype and production.
• Support procurement department special projects.
