Job summary

Martin Marietta seeks a Procurement Specialist to support local procurement activities, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations and Category Managers. The role includes site visits, spend analyses, and leading RFXs for large projects to drive regional procurement objectives.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of procurement experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and proficiency with ERP systems and Excel. Travel of 35-55% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent education/experience preferred.
• 2-3 years of relevant procurement experience in aggregates, manufacturing, construction, or similar industries preferred.
• Basic understanding of sourcing, negotiating, and procurement processes for equipment, materials, and services.
• Familiarity with supplier contracts and compliance requirements is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau) is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working within diverse teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 35-55% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Support local procurement activities and monitor vendor performance, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Operations, Category Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to build effective working relationships and achieve desired outcomes.
• Conduct site visits to prioritized locations and participate in regional and local meetings to drive procurement objectives.
• Lead Formal RFXs (RFI, RFP, or RFQ) for large projects or spend categories through company tender platform.
• Complete Supplier Contracts for all on-site suppliers, large spend suppliers and specific projects per annual KPI goal.
• Process purchase requests, obtain quotes, review bids and proposals, and prepare purchase orders.
• Manage supplier prequalification and ensure ongoing compliance with company requirements.
• Drive adoption of contract usage, eProcurement systems, procurement channel compliance, and supplier spend consolidation.
• Support and deliver procurement and supply chain training initiatives for Division management.
• Maintain alignment with the Company’s Mission, Vision, and Values and adhere to policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
