Job summary

State of Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Purchasing Agent in Lake City. The role manages procurement of goods and services under bid thresholds using MFMP and Ariba, processes purchase orders and invoices, and coordinates warehouse activities while ensuring budget compliance.

The incumbent will work in the FDOT D2 Lake City Bridge area, supporting statewide procurement initiatives and emergency response efforts as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency.
• Knowledge of budget management and/or procurement of goods and services.
• Skills in reading, understanding and applying applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Ability to listen and understand the needs of both internal and external customers.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, complete and track the status of assignments.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Acquire commodities and contractual services under bid threshold through informal quote, proposal, and single source processes through MFMP and FMS.
• Inputs in to systems on a daily basis to achieve compliance with purchasing rules and procedures.
• Prepares, reviews and processes purchase orders using Ariba and/or Purchasing Card.
• Receives and inspects invoices and ensures timely payments.
• Coordinates warehouse activities and provides budget information to ensure spending meets budget.
