Job summary

Cajun Industries is seeking a Procurement Specialist to execute routine procurement functions under the guidance of the Procurement Manager. You will create RFQ/RFPs, manage RFIs, review quotes, generate purchase orders, and maintain vendor relationships to support project goals.

You will work with Estimating and Projects teams, identify cost saving opportunities, ensure compliance with standards, and help maintain accurate records and timely expediting.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in expediting, procurement, or related duties.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains supplier relationships to obtain competitive pricing.
• Works with Estimating and Projects teams to build requisitions and solicit quotes.
• Expedites vendor quotes and manages quotes/proposals.
• Generates purchase orders and executes in compliance with standards.
• Identifies cost saving opportunities within procurement strategy.
• Maintains records of quotes, POs, and logs.
• Reviews expediting reports with Expeditors to ensure on-time orders.
