Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience with purchasing, design, fabrication/wiring, or knowledge of electrical control materials for conveyor systems in automobile assembly plants.
• Experience as a buyer is preferred but not required for entry level into this classification.
• Training in electronics and experience with trouble shooting is preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Creates and places Purchase Orders for Approved EBM's and Purchase Requisitions.
• Attends weekly Production Meeting and provides status information for purchased material.
• Obtains competitive quotations for material when possible and where appropriate to ensure the lowest prices.
• Performs follow up to ensure ship dates promised by vendors are met.
• Expedites material to meet engineers and customers' requirements.
• Arranges for material to be shipped direct to customers or job sites and follows up receipt.
• Evaluates vendors to meet QOS requirements.
• Arranges for repair or return of defective material.
• Reconciles differences between Vendor Invoice and Purchase Order and approves payment.
• Assists with annual physical inventory.
• Orders Office Supplies from signed/approved Purchase Requisitions.
