Job summary

First Solar, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to execute purchasing activities for materials, services, and equipment, ensuring alignment with approved requisitions and standard terms.

You will support supplier negotiations, onboarding of new suppliers, and maintenance of master data to enable efficient planning and material management. Travel is expected; a Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain.
• Experience in manufacturing environment and with MRP concepts.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle).
• APICS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure requisitions and purchase orders are accurate and aligned with negotiated pricing.
• Research and evaluate potential new suppliers for pricing, delivery, and quality improvements.
• Support supplier qualification activities by gathering information and coordinating evaluations.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels for assigned materials to meet production needs.
• Expedite/deexpedite purchase orders and adjust quantities as production changes.
• Communicate supplier quality issues and collaborate on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate master data to support planning and material management processes.
