Cowell Steel Structures LLC is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support procurement in our Pottsville, AR facility. You will report to the purchasing manager, maintain supplier relationships, and help ensure on-time delivery of stock and project orders.

The role requires initiative, organization, and attention to detail. Candidates should be comfortable coordinating with multiple departments and supporting administrative tasks related to procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience using procurement software and databases.

Responsibilities

• Maintains records of goods ordered and received.
• Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.
• Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.
• Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfillment of orders.
• Monitors inventory and determines supply needs.
• Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems.
• Prepare quotes and purchase orders.
• Negotiate with vendors to receive the best price on goods.
• Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among suppliers.
• Assist in cycle counts.
• Receive and distribute internal orders.
• Resolve order discrepancies.
• Provide administrative support such as phone coverage and greeting visitors.
