Job description

Job Purpose

Provide comprehensive procurement services including sourcing, negotiating, and buying of goods, materials, and services to meet the new tank construction division’s operational requirements and goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Execute sourcing projects for the new tank division, monitoring the supplier market, and implementing the best sourcing strategies to develop the business
  2. Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously ensuring all commitments are delivered & conflicting timelines managed effectively to ensure full stakeholder satisfaction with the Procurement process
  3. Lead supplier management and performance by influencing, challenging, and collaborating with suppliers to drive continuous improvement and deliver positive outcomes for the business
  4. Process documentation and invoices to ensure correct and on-time payment
  5. Produce and publish Bill of Materials (BOM) from project drawings detailing required construction materials and equipment to complete each project including Purchase and Manufacturing Orders
  6. Proactively monitor market and provide input and recommendations regarding sourcing options, supplier market and market trends to ensure development of the category/sourcing plans
  7. Collaborate and support internal business partners to meet and achieve favorable outcomes for their procurement needs
  8. Ensure company purchasing policies and procedures are followed
  9. Obtain material and service quotes for project bids
Professional Conduct/Development
  1. Build professional and technical knowledge through continuing education including reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and educational workshops at the direction of the leadership
  2. Maintain and enhance the Company’s image through personal demeanor and methods of conducting business
  3. Visit suppliers to build/maintain professional relationships and develop supply chain relationships at the direction of the department manager
Leadership
  1. Assist with operations of the department such as training, workflow assistance, active participation in meetings, and updating department policies, procedures, and documents as directed by the department manager
  2. Discuss any known department work product issues with the department manager and recommend solutions

Minimum Qualifications
  • A.A. in Business or Construction Management or 3 years experience in Procurement with a minimum of 2 years experience in municipal work or construction industry
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.A. in Business or Construction Management or 5 years experience in Procurement with a minimum of 3 years experience in municipal work or construction industry
  • Proficient in use of Procurement and Inventory software
  • CPSM or similar professional certification
  • Strong technical or market knowledge of construction processes and materials; particularly rebar and concrete
  • Proficient in Costpoint
Working Conditions
