Job summary

SteelFab, Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist to secure materials, supplies and equipment for essential operations, with on-the-job training and clear paths for career advancement.

You will coordinate material flow, create purchase orders, manage nesting plans, handle receiving paperwork, and maintain inventory records while collaborating with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and accurate invoicing.

Qualifications

• Working toward or having a bachelor’s degree; or having an associate degree with a minimum of 2–3 years’ procurement experience.
• Strong verbal, mathematics, and communication skills.
• Ability to be a team player with minimal supervision.
• Strong multi-tasker and must be detail oriented.
• Knowledge of procurement software and inventory and supply management systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite flow of material, parts, and assemblies between vendor and shop.
• Create Purchase Orders.
• Create nesting plans to ensure efficient use of raw material.
• Process receiving and related paperwork.
• Interact with vendors to ensure orders arrive on time and by requested date.
• Reconcile inventory and maintain records.
• Coordinate material procurement for sublet fabricators.
• Reconcile invoices vs. purchase orders and route for payment.
• Process and check detail shop drawings.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
