About the Role
Our client, a leading entity in the FMCG sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is instrumental in sourcing and purchasing raw materials, packaging, and other essential supplies required for the manufacturing of their diverse range of products. You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing procurement processes to achieve cost savings and maintain supply chain continuity. The ideal candidate has a solid background in procurement, especially within the demanding FMCG environment, and is adept at remote collaboration and negotiation.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, packaging components, and indirect materials required for FMCG production, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify, vet, and manage relationships with a diverse base of suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards and ethical sourcing practices.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about commodity trends, pricing fluctuations, and potential supply chain risks.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.
- Process purchase orders, manage supplier contracts, and ensure timely delivery of goods to meet production schedules.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including R&D, production, and finance, to understand procurement needs and provide support.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements within the procurement function.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with specific experience in the FMCG industry.
- Proven ability to negotiate favorable contracts and pricing with suppliers.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain principles, and market dynamics relevant to FMCG raw materials and packaging.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite; ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
