Job summary

CEI is seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer in Portland, OR for a hybrid role (3 days onsite per week). The position is a W2 contract paying $33–$35/hour, plus optional medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) match.

You will lead RFx activities, manage mid-complexity sourcing events, negotiate terms, and support supplier interactions to ensure compliant, timely procurement outcomes. Strong communication with stakeholders and experience with ERP tools like PeopleSoft are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience leading RFPs/RFx and end-to-end sourcing events.
• Service-based contract negotiation and contract administration experience.
• Procurement and sourcing experience (2–3+ years in procurement/sourcing/contract management/category support).
• Ability to gather requirements with business stakeholders and translate them into RFx materials.

Responsibilities

• Execute RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs aligned to category plans and stakeholder requirements.
• Develop bid packages, manage evaluations, and document sourcing decisions.
• Negotiate pricing and service-based contract terms for mid-complexity categories.
• Draft, review, and process contracts, renewals, amendments, and terminations.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation and support audit readiness.
• Coordinate supplier communications, onboarding support, and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and applicable requirements.

Overview

This role provides tactical procurement support and executes mid-complexity sourcing events, serving as the link between category strategy and day-to-day execution. You will lead RFx activity, support contract negotiations, and coordinate supplier interactions to deliver compliant, timely procurement outcomes in a hybrid work environment.
