Job summary

D&L Parts Company in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. You will own purchasing decisions, manage supplier relationships, and drive inventory and cost-saving initiatives.

You will work closely with the Supply Chain Director to optimize product availability, inventory turns, and procurement processes across HVAC, appliance, and related categories. This role offers ownership and growth within a hands-on team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing, procurement or related supply chain experience.
• Strong Excel skills with PivotTables and lookup functions.
• Experience using an ERP or purchasing system.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Purchase HVAC, appliance, and related products for assigned categories.
• Collaborate with suppliers on pricing, availability, and programs.
• Assist with supplier negotiations and cost-saving opportunities.
• Analyze inventory levels, sales trends, and purchasing needs.
• Improve inventory turns by reducing excess stock.
• Monitor product availability, fill rates, backorders, and aged orders.
• Assist forecasting and replenishment planning.
• Analyze purchasing costs, margins, and supplier performance.
• Maintain pricing, SKU, and supplier data in ERP.

D&L Parts Company is looking for a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join our Supply Chain team in Charlotte, NC. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience and is ready for more ownership. You'll work directly with our Supply Chain Director and play an important role in purchasing decisions, supplier relationships, inventory planning, product availability, and cost-saving opportunities.

What You'll Do

• Purchase HVAC, appliance, and related products for assigned categories.
• Work directly with suppliers on pricing, availability, purchasing programs, and performance.
• Assist with supplier negotiations and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Analyze inventory levels, sales trends, and purchasing needs.
• Help improve inventory turns while reducing excess and slow-moving stock.
• Monitor product availability, fill rates, backorders, and aged purchase orders.
• Assist with forecasting and replenishment planning.
• Analyze purchasing costs, margins, supplier performance, and inventory metrics.
• Maintain accurate pricing, SKU, supplier, and purchasing information within our ERP system.
• Partner with Sales, Distribution, Marketing, IT, and Accounting to solve purchasing and product availability issue

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, buying, inventory planning, or related supply chain experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
• Experience working with an ERP or purchasing system.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A working knowledge of inventory management and purchasing practices.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with suppliers.
• Experience with supplier negotiations or vendor performance is a plus.
• HVAC, appliance, industrial, wholesale distribution, or manufacturing experience is a plus - but not required.
