D&H Distributing is seeking a talented Buyer to own a group of suppliers with material business impact. You will join a cross-functional team to grow this division, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork.

The role supports the Procurement Department in ensuring inventory stability and supplier performance. Responsibilities include purchasing merchandise, managing stock levels, negotiating terms, and guiding the buy-to-pay process across branches while coordinating with sales and marketing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in purchasing finished goods.
• IT distribution experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant and technical experience with IT exposure.
• Strong background in procurement, marketing, or sales.

Responsibilities

• Purchase all incoming merchandise.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels across warehouse locations.
• Prevent stockouts by expediting deliveries and coordinating with sales.
• Negotiate pricing, freight terms, and return material terms.
• Oversee buy-to-pay process and assist Accounts Payable with invoices.

Summary:

D&H Distributing is searching for a talented, smart and driven Buyer. As a Buyer, you will have ownership of a group of suppliers that have a material impact to the business.You will be part of a cross functional team that is in place to grow this division so collaboration and teamwork will be instrumental to your success.

Responsibilities:

• Purchase all incoming merchandise.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels in all warehouse locations.
• Maintain stable supply, take necessary actions to prevent stock out or expedite deliveries. This includes to anticipate demand and working with sales.
• Issue stocking and special purchase orders as required and ensure correctness on orders for all branches.
• Negotiate better pricing, freight terms and return material terms.
• Manage supplier price, delivery and quality expectations and escalated when appropriate.
• Oversee the buy-to-pay process that also includes assisting accounts payable in troubleshooting payment of invoices. Enforce suppliers’ compliance with invoicing policies and payment terms.
• Analyze sales results on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Interact with suppliers with regard to assortment selection and promotion activities.
• Help to manage the inventory by doing stock balances, transfers, ordering, etc.
• Interact with inside and outside sales by answering questions/ problems via phone and/or e-mail.
• Interact with vendors via phone or e-mail.
• Interact with the warehouses and vendors about shipping problems, overages, etc.
• Interact with marketing to produce monthly flyers by giving product feedback, promos, pricing, etc.
• Delegate price changes and other appropriate activities to the Purchasing Operations Team.
• Correspond with all departments and vendor partners as needed on the phone and via email.
• Prioritize and multi-task in all aspects of your day.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred or equivalent in experience requiredin purchasing of finished goods.
• IT distribution experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant and technical experience, preferably with significant exposure to IT, or relevant degree.
• Strong background in procurement, marketing, or sales.
• Strong analytical/data interpretation, problem solving, strategic influencing, and cross-functional leadership.
