Purchasing/procurement (Dietary Supplements Specialist)

**Overview:** **Potential to work Remote***

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Purchasing Agent with expertise in dietary supplements to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a deep understanding of the dietary supplements industry, capable of hitting the ground running and effectively managing the procurement process. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization by ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality dietary supplements.

**Responsibilities:**

1. **Procurement:** Source, negotiate, and purchase dietary supplements from approved suppliers/vendors while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

2. **Supplier Management:** Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers/vendors, including negotiating contracts, managing supplier performance, and resolving any issues that may arise.

3. **Market Research:** Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to dietary supplements to make informed purchasing decisions.

4. **Inventory Management:** Monitor inventory levels, anticipate demand, and place orders accordingly to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

5. **Quality Control:** Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that all purchased dietary supplements meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.

6. **Cost Analysis:** Conduct cost analysis and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising product quality or customer satisfaction.

7. **Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, pricing, and inventory levels, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

8. **Collaboration:** Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and production, to align purchasing strategies with business objectives and customer needs.

9. **Continuous Improvement:** Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the purchasing function, and implement best practices accordingly.

**Qualifications:**

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the dietary supplements industry.

Deep understanding of dietary supplements, including ingredients and regulatory requirements.

Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing purchasing processes.

5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

7. Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with purchasing software or ERP systems is preferred.

**Salary Range:**

The salary for this position is based on experience and qualifications, ranging from $50,000 to $65,000 annually. Additional benefits may be offered depending on the candidate's experience and negotiation skills.
