Continental Electronics Corporation, a leading RF technology provider, is seeking a Procurement Specialist in Richardson, TX. You will manage requisitions, issue POs, and optimize value, quality, and price across suppliers.

Work with Program Office, Manufacturing and Engineering to track orders, obtain quotes, and select vendors. Bring negotiation, teamwork and Excel skills to ensure timely, cost-efficient supply of electronic parts and related equipment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related buying experience.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience purchasing electronic parts (EEE) and equipment.
• Working knowledge of Contract Accounting.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Cost point experience is a plus.
• Negotiation, Collaboration, Teamwork, Communication.

Responsibilities

• Reviews requisitions and issues purchase orders to optimize value, quality, delivery, and price.
• Recommends changes or substitutes when materials are unavailable or quality may be improved or costs reduced.
• Coordinates with Program Office, Manufacturing and Engineering for PO statuses.
• Assists in selecting qualified suppliers through inspections and inquiries and adjudicates differences.
• Obtains quotations and selects vendors.
• Acts as liaison between requisitioning departments and suppliers.
• Provides lead-time and quantity price break information to Production Control as needed.
• Updates Sr. Procurement Manager on delinquent orders.

Overview

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with 80 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories.

The Procurement Specialist will carry out broad assignments involving the purchase of items requiring knowledge and experience, usually involving responsibility for a high volume of purchases. Reports to the Sr. Procurement Manager in the Manufacturing Department.

Responsibilities

• Reviews requisitions and issues purchase orders to the optimum advantage of the company based on value, quality, delivery, and price


• Recommends changes or substitutes when specific materials are not available or when quality may be improved or costs reduced


• Works with the Program Office, Manufacturing and Engineering to provide updated statuses as needed on all open Purchase Orders


• Assists in the selection of qualified suppliers through facility inspection and personal inquiry and adjudicates difference between CEC and vendors


• Obtains quotations as required and selects vendors


• Performs liaison between requisitioning departments and suppliers


• May provide Production Control with quantity price break information and necessary lead-time required for economic lot purchases.


• Advises Sr. Procurement Manager on status of open orders periodically to determine action to be taken on delinquent orders.


• Reviews rejected parts as to source and makes final disposition

Qualifications

• 2 years of related buying experience


• Associate’s degree preferred


• Experience purchasing electronic parts (EEE) and equipment


• Working knowledge of Contract Accounting


• Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint


• Cost point experience is a plus

Computer Skills

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Pay may range from $63,000 to $83,000 annually

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
