Job summary

S:US is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the Procurement & Fleet Team. You will identify suppliers, negotiate terms and ensure cost-effective purchases that meet the company’s needs and standards.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager or Director, you will collaborate with multiple departments, support ERP data improvements, and help drive compliant and efficient procurement processes while expanding supplier partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in a relevant field or internship preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Awareness of Procure‑to‑Pay systems, processes, and ERPs (Bellwether/EPMX) preferred.
  • Experience with food purchasing through a food distributor preferred.

Min: USD $60,000.00/Hr.

Max: USD $63,000.00/Hr.

Position Overview

The Support Services functions at S:US are carried out by a team of professionals with differing backgrounds who share deeply in the S:US mission. The Procurement Department is seeking a detailed‑oriented, organized and innovative individual to join our Procurement & Fleet Team as a Procurement Specialist. The selected candidate will report to the Procurement Manager and/or Procurement & Fleet Director. The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying and procuring quality goods and services for the company at the most competitive rates as well as building strong working relationships with suppliers and departments that will result in more efficient and effective procurement strategies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Negotiation
  • Identify suppliers of goods and services.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, and expectations.
  • Assist Procurement Manager & Director in communicating new supplier agreements and following up on procurement assistance requested by business.
Collaboration
  • Liaise with suppliers and requisitioners regarding updates and details of goods.
  • Help coordinate and filter supplier meetings and schedules with key stakeholders.
  • Work with various functions and assist department with rollout of procurement standard operating procedures and procurement compliance.
  • Help with data analysis and spend analytics and with administrative work associated with improving the ERP system.
  • Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered.
  • Identify potential errors for the requested goods and services based on location and nature.
Other Duties
  • Create Purchase Orders.
  • Problem-solving skills – Ability to analyze data and search for inconsistencies, then reconcile inconsistencies and devise solutions to errors.
  • Negotiation skills – Effective verbal and email communication, problem solving, product knowledge and decision‑making ability.
  • Math skills – Ability to calculate data, ensure information is correct, and work with numbers with minimal errors.
  • Interpersonal skills – Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, treat staff with respect, and help answer questions so that they can succeed.
  • Communication skills – Effective verbal and written communication to interact effectively with colleagues and managers at all levels.
Qualifications
  • Required Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent acceptable.
    • Three years’ experience in a relevant field or internship experience preferred.
    • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Awareness of Procure‑to‑Pay systems, processes, and associated ERPs (Bellwether/EPMX) preferred.
    • Experience with food purchasing through a food distributor preferred.
