Summary

The VP, Professional Services Category & Sourcing Lead is a senior procurement professional responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives and supporting category management activities within the Professional Services spend category, with a primary focus on Consulting services and a preference for Technology Consulting expertise. This role combines hands‑on sourcing leadership with category strategy support to drive cost savings, optimize supplier relationships, manage complex commercial negotiations, and deliver value across the organization. The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, suppliers, legal teams, and procurement colleagues to execute sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and support long‑term category objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities across Professional Services categories, with a primary focus on Consulting services.
  • Manage multiple sourcing engagements simultaneously while delivering high-quality outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Conduct contract reviews and negotiate commercial terms, deliverables, agreements, statements of work, amendments, and related contractual documentation.
  • Partner with legal teams to review and redline contracts as required.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract requirements, risk management standards, and internal processes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage RFx processes, competitive bids, and supplier evaluations to optimize cost, service, and value.
  • Lead direct supplier negotiations involving complex and strategic agreements.
  • Promote the use of preferred suppliers, established pricing models, rate cards, discounts, and approved purchasing channels.
  • Contribute to cost savings, cost avoidance initiatives, and overall financial results.
  • Deliver high levels of service, responsiveness, and strategic value to internal stakeholders.
  • Execute sourcing activities in alignment with category strategy objectives.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of multi-year category strategy plans.
  • Conduct spending analysis, supplier assessments, market evaluations, and category reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with business stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Identify, document, and develop cost-saving opportunities through stakeholder engagement and data-driven analysis.
  • Support strategic sourcing projects, changing initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration efforts.
  • Drive productivity improvements through strategic sourcing initiatives, demand management, and process optimization.
  • Lead and support strategic sourcing events, supplier selection activities, and major commercial negotiations.
  • Assist with supplier onboarding processes and approval requirements.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues and stakeholder requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor adherence to procurement guidelines, category plans, and established sourcing processes.
  • Support knowledge sharing, training, and development initiatives where applicable.
  • Develop a strong understanding of organizational procurement processes and apply best practices to achieve sourcing and category management objectives.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of strategic sourcing experience within Professional Services procurement.
  • Extensive experience sourcing Consulting services, with Technology Consulting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing category management strategies.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings and financial benefits through sourcing initiatives.
  • Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements with large Professional Services providers.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving business environments.

Pay Transparency

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $75.00 - $78.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
