Job summary

The City of McKinney is offering a 500-hour internship in the Finance Department to support Procurement Services with a variety of administrative and operational tasks.

You will assist with sourcing, vendor research, surplus property activities, auctions, and procurement projects; route and track documents; manage communications; and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and records. This role provides practical project work and professional development in a municipal setting.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sourcing, vendor research, surplus property, auctions, and procurement projects.
• Route and track procurement documents and manage communications and mail.
• Maintain departmental databases, spreadsheets, and records; update information systems and generate reports.
• Support procurement staff with clerical tasks and maintain office supplies and equipment.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
