Job summary

Maev is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to own daily purchasing operations. You will convert approved supply plans into POs, manage supplier communications, and keep materials flowing for production.

You’ll partner with Supply Planning, Freight, and Finance to resolve issues quickly and maintain on-time delivery. The ideal candidate manages a high volume of open orders, spots risks early, and takes ownership of orders from placement to delivery.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
• Hands-on experience creating and managing purchase orders with suppliers.
• Experience with CP G brands or contract manufacturers is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP, inventory, or purchasing systems.
• Experience with PO receiving and invoice reconciliation is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volume orders.
• Clear, proactive written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Familiarity with COAs, FSMA, or SQF is a plus.
• Based in Austin, TX, with ability to work from office 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Purchase Order Management: Create and issue POs based on approved supply plans and production requirements.
• Order Tracking & Expediting: Track open POs and follow up on late or at-risk orders.
• Logistics Coordination: Coordinate inbound material shipments with Freight.
• Material Availability: Monitor availability and identify potential shortages.
• Issue Resolution: Resolve day-to-day PO issues with suppliers and partners.
• Invoice Reconciliation: Review invoices against POs and receiving information.
• Cost & Pricing Tracking: Maintain material pricing and flag changes.
• Supplier & Data Management: Maintain supplier records, COAs, certificates, pricing.
• Supplier Onboarding: Support onboarding paperwork for new suppliers.
• Supplier Risk & Escalation: Identify risks and escalate with context and steps.
• Sourcing Support: Assist in vetting backup suppliers for continuity.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes.
