Job Duties

Purpose of Position: Provide support in the operational plan for all facilities by ensuring that the management of critical documents, utility invoice processing, systems data entry and fuel procurement is completed professionally and within the timelines required which assists the Virginia Army National Guard (VaARNG) in sustaining readiness and fulfilling federal and state missions. Conduct periodic analysis of consumption trends utilizing provided databases and report the analysis as required. The position represents the Facilities Maintenance and Operation (FMO) for procurement of fuels & commercial utility provided power and is key in trending and tracking utilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet the demands of unexpected work conditions and hours required;
  • Working knowledge of contract services and electronic procurement systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems;
  • Skills in procuring a wide variety of goods and services in accordance with established guidelines;
  • Ability to effectively use automated applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to enhance efficiency of operations;
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, ability to work well with management and staff at all levels, and strong customer service focus needed;
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in managing workloads and conflicting priorities, strong organization skills, and detail-orientation required;
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Additional Considerations
  • Understanding of VaARNG structure and environment preferred;
  • VCA (Virginia Contracting Associate), state procurement experience preferred.
Special Instructions
  • Must obtain a VCA (Virginia Contracting Associate) certification within 12 months of hire.
  • A Real ID or combination of acceptable documents is required for entry onto Fort Pickett and all other Federal Installations;
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid Virginia Driver’s License for the duration of employment;
  • Must obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC);
